NEW 07-12-2005 Chicago Burlington & Quincy 4960 class O-1A (2-8-2) with the Schlitz circus train crosses the Wisconsin river on the C&NW at Merrimac, Wisconsin, June 30, 1966. This photo brings back wonderful memories. For many years my family vacationed on the Wisconsin River at Merrimac, also known for their ferry boat. Watched many a train cross this bridge, and one day back in the 1970's, a friend and I crossed it on foot.

Wisconsin & Southern Railroad Circus Train 2003

NEW 07-13-2005 Almost every year in July, the Great Circus Parade takes place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Because the 75 or so antique circus wagons are housed at Circus World Museum in Baraboo, they must be transported to the Milwaukee parade site. Due to the fact that these wagons are large and fragile, rail transportation is the ideal way to move this very unique cargo. NEW 07-13-2005 Lodi, Wisconsin is the first stop for the train. Just south of the Wisconsin River crossing, crews will take this opportunity to check all the wagons to make sure they are secure. This is always a popular stop as seen here by the large crowds of people. These pictures are from the 2003 Circus Train. -Courtesy Jim Kalrath and The Wisconsin & Southern Railroad.-
